A fresh opener, fresh codes

Garage Door Opener Installation in Alva

When the inherited opener is worn out or unsafe, a new one comes with your own remotes, a new keypad code and a door checked for balance first.

When Starting Over Beats Repairing

Some inherited openers are simply done: parts are scarce, the safety features are missing or the logic board keeps failing. Replacing the unit also solves another worry in a new house, because every remote the sellers held stops working at once.

Before installing, we check that the door is balanced, because even a strong opener should not carry the whole load. Then we fit the unit, set limits and force, mount the sensors, pair your remotes and choose a keypad code. We explain the controls and release cord before leaving.

Reasons to Replace the Opener

  • No working reverse or sensors

An opener that cannot stop and back off on an obstacle, or has no sensors at all, is a safety gap that is worth closing.

  • Repeated failures

If the board, gear or motor has needed repair more than once, further fixes rarely pay off, and a new unit gives you a clean starting point.

  • Controls that are easy to copy

Older openers using fixed codes can be duplicated by others. A newer unit with changing codes stops that and wipes out every earlier owner's device.

How Installation Goes

  1. 1

    Check the door first

We confirm that springs balance the door, since an opener forced to lift dead weight wears out early and may trip its reverse.

  2. 2

    Install and wire

The rail, motor head, wall control and sensors are mounted and connected, and the unit is aligned to the door.

  3. 3

    Set, pair and demonstrate

Travel and force are set, your remotes and keypad code are paired and we show you the release cord and the safety checks.

Installation Questions From New Owners

Do I have to replace the opener with the door?
No. A sound opener can usually stay when a door is replaced, though a much heavier door may outgrow it. We check its rating and tell you before anything is bought, so there is no wasted spending.
Can I keep my old remotes?
Only if they are compatible, and you probably would rather not. Starting with new remotes means the previous owners' devices no longer reach your garage, which is part of the reason to replace the unit.
What if I want Wi-Fi or battery backup?
Those features come in many models. We can talk through what they add and whether they suit your household, without nudging you toward an upgrade you do not need or will never actually switch on.
